Okay. I saw a post earlier complaining about people who have a problem with Supercat’s age difference. And they compared it to Swan Queen. I don’t want to start a ship war, but this is a problem for me and I need to address it. First of all, age is NOT just a number. People say that to make it okay to date someone so much younger/older than they are. You can say it all you want, that doesn’t make it okay. Just because something is legal doesn’t make it right. It’s disgusting and creepy. When you’re old enough to have given birth to someone, IT IS NOT OKAY TO DATE THEM. WHY DO SOME PEOPLE HAVE PROBLEMS GETTING THAT THROUGH THEIR HEADS?! Find someone closer to your own age, FUCK. Second of all, Regina never considered Snow White family. She wasn’t in love with Leopold. Snow White was literally nothing to her in her eyes. Third of all, Regina stopped aging for 28 years. Literally. She didn’t start aging again till the curse broke. It’s a special circumstance. You may be going oh but technically Kara is as old as Cat. No in fact she isn’t. She also stopped aging. Her birth year means nothing. She STOPPED AGING. It is not okay to ship Supercat. Big age difference ships are a problem. When you give in to them, it makes it okay for someone to like someone who is waiting for that someone to turn 18. That is NOT okay. That is one step away from pedophila. A very CLOSE step. I do not want to see Supercat anywhere near my dash, and I also don’t want to see someone putting me down because of it. It is a huge trigger for me and you don’t know people’s lives. You can’t complain because someone speaks their mind. You can like it if you want, but I am NOT going to put up with it. Or with people saying it’s okay when it’s not. That is one of society’s problems. With ya’ll saying it’s okay to ship Supercat, you’re saying it’s okay for Donald Trump to say that he would sleep with his own daughter if she weren’t his daughter. It’s the same thing. Hate me if you want, I don’t give a fuck. But the next time I see Supercat on my dash I am unfollowing. No questions or hesitation.
I agree that large age differences are kind of weird, nobody wants to be mistaken as somebody’s grandchild or child when they are actually lovers. However, I also think that there are some cases in which an age difference is fine, although I may be being quite bias. You see, when I was eighteen, I and a group of friends were having a few drinks on a friday night at a local pub that was always very lively about the time we were there. One minute I was sat drinking a Guinness and the next, in walks this woman, this goddess, more beautiful than any person I’d ever seen in my life. I won’t go into all the details of what happened that night but by the end of the night I had found out she was called Miranda and she was thirty-two years old. What followed was a series of dates my parents and foster parents didn’t know about as I had moved out by that time and I thought it was more prudent to keep Miranda a secret from them, however, my sisters knew. What stated out as dates, turned into love, turned into Miranda moving in with me, turned into me asking her to marry me, just four months ago. I love her so much. And she loved me. I say loved because it’s in the past now. She turned down my proposal, not because she didn’t love me, but because she was sick. She had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a week before. I was devastated. She was devastated. It’s been two months since she died. And I am still heartbroken.
Of course age matters, but not as much as you may think. Miranda was fourteen years older than me but we were in love. More in love thank you could ever imagine. If people are in love, and the ages are legal, let them be.
